Falling in Love with Brioche Stitch

Learning brioche stitch has been on my to do list for quite a while. I’d managed to pick up the idea that it was tricky, that i’d have to pay to close attention to every single stitch.

So I was delighted when it turned out to be as easy as anything.

I used the wonderful instructions provided by Nancy Marchant at Brioche Stitch – and it all became pretty much instantly clear.

One cowl in DK British BFL – and inspired by Tarmac Tuesday (which in turn was inspired by the lovely Felix Ford).

The cowl is a basic brioche stitch, initially worked in bands of colour then with single rounds of each colour. That two colour rib was the point where I really fell in love.

I’m already plotting cowl 2 – and then a sweater.
