There are plans for several new things in 2016, and the first is almost here.
I’m waiting for a new yarn to arrive at the workshop, and it’s one that I’m very excited about.
When we were at Yarndale last year we spoke to the lovely people at Blacker Yarns, and agreed that we’d love to have a special yarn spun for us.
After lots of discussion we settle on a blend of two wools – Wensleydale and Shetland. These will combine to give a yarn which has lustre and bounce, so it’s going to be perfect for showing off stitch patterns.
Both wools will be properly British, and each wool will come from a single flock.
So we’ll have a yarn where nothing has come from outside the UK. That makes me happy because it’s saved lots of air miles. It also supports British wool farmers and that’s fantastic.
Now I just need to be patient until my yarn arrives.
