Shop Update 06.11.15

It’s November – or Wovember.

Time to celebrate all things wool.

This week’s yarns are dyed on our gorgeous 50% Polwarth, 50% Wensleydale base. Custom spun for us by John Arbon, the yarn has 400 meters to each 100 gram skein.

This is the very last of this yarn – so once it’s gone it’s finished for good.

The Wensleydale gives the yarn a lovely lustre and drape, while the Polwarth adds bounce. This yarn would be perfect for garments, hats, scarves, shawls and mittens. It isn’t spun with an especially high twist, so I’d suggest that it might not be the best thing for socks.

We’ve never dyed all of the original Discworld colours onto a pure wool base before, and I’m very happy with the results.
