A Bit of Sparkle

We’ve managed to find an amazing sparkly yarn which is British.

Spun in Yorkshire a whole 30 minutes from our workshop, the yarn is a bend of 96% Fine Falkland merino and 4% lurex. The lurex is the sparkly bit and what’s extra lovely about it is that it dyes – so the red yarn has red sparkles, the gold yarn has golden sparkles and so on.

It’s a really lovely yarn.

So lovely that Bobbie who is not always a fan of woolly things and almost never a fan of sparkly things has requested a hat.

The yarn is a DK weight and there are 240 meters to each 100 gram skein. Each skein is £15.00

The yarn will be coming to Fibre East with us this weekend, then will be appearing in the shop a week on Friday. I’m already thinking it would be beautiful for several of the hats in Painted Woolly Toppers – and we’ll have signed copies of the book at Fibre East and in the shop from next Tuesday.

What would you knit with soft sparkles?

  1. Yorkshire AND sparkles…does life get any better?! Not for us Yorkshire folk 🙂 xx

  2. I’d knit everything with sparkles if I could get away with it 🙂
