Shop Update 01.05.15

There’s a real mix of good things for the update this week – and I hope there will be something to tempt you.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) are appealing for funds for the Nepal disaster, so until 1800 on Sunday 3rd May we’ll be donating 50% of all sales (including postage).

The DEC brings 13 leading UK aid charities together in times of crisis: Action Aid, Age International, British Red Cross, CAFOD, Care International, Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide, Islamic Relief, Oxfam, Plan UK, Save the Children, Tearfund and World Vision; all collectively raising money to reach those in need quickly.

They say :

“We only appeal when we know we can help. These are the three key questions we ask 1) Does the scale and urgency of the disaster call for decisive action? 2) Are our member agencies in a position to provide effective and swift humanitarian assistance? 3) Will the public support us?”

So they’re a great way of making sure that help is given as quickly as possible, and that’s why we’re donating to them.

Having told you that, let me show you what’s in this week’s update.

Practically Purple in Every Way

This set got it’s name as it was created when my lovely friends Brenda and David came to visit and offered to help out in the workshop. Brenda is fond of purple, so we played with adding different colours, and arrived at this collection of loveliness.

Then something new – glass stitch markers in little pebble shapes. These are great for doodling on if you want to personalise them. They also make great jewellery when strung onto leather cord – so lots of chances to play and be creative.

Finally the July instalment of the clubs is available form the shop from the 1st of May.

The goodies shown above will be in the shop at 1900 on Friday 1st May – and until 1800 on Sunday 3rd May we’ll donate 50% of the value of your order to the DEC.

Happy shopping – what will you make?
