Presents from the Bad Aunties

We’ve been lucky enough to be aunties to a couple of babies over the last few months.

It goes without saying that any new arrival deserves to be treated to something that’s been handmade with love.

So far, so good.

But Bobbie and I aren’t fans of pastel colours or boring baby prints, so our latest baby gifts are a little on the loud side. If that makes us the bad aunties then that’s fine by us!

Two batches of bibs. The parents have a thing about crocodiles – in fact there was a blow up crocodile at their wedding. So these fabrics had instant appeal.

One very colourful baby blanket – the pattern is the Ripple Blanket from Attic 24 . I love the colours, and while I’m not a huge fan of 100% acrylic it’s the perfect thing for this. I’m looking forward to getting back to wool and dpns for a while now.

  1. Bad aunties give the best presents… And nephews & nieces love receiving them! My 9 year old niece is the recipient of the only lace weight shawl I have ever knitted. 🙂

  2. Thank you – and I love the idea of laceweight for little ones.
