Utter Luxury

I love our sock yarn. I think the base is pretty much the perfect blend of hard working and softness. But now and again it’s nice to have some real luxury.

I’ve been testing out a new yarn base this week – a merino and silk 4ply . This yarn is a single – so one single strand of yarn that hasn’t been plied or twisted with anything else. The blend is 70% superwash merino, 30% silk. It feels very much like a pure silk yarn but it’s slightly less slippery to work with. Each 100 gram skein has 400 meters of yarn, so it’s going to be perfect for shawls, and each skein will cost just £15.

There are 3 colours to start with

The shop will be updated with the new yarns at 1900 tomorrow.

If you’d like to come and see the yarns in person, we’re having an open studio this Saturday (19th October) with special guests Nic’s Knots and Coopknits. You’ll find details and directions in the blog post before this one.

Happy shopping
