Open Studios

Then on to open studio.

Wool Week runs form the 14th to the 20th of October. On Saturday 19th of October we’ll be opening the workshop doors to visitors so you’re very welcome to pop in and see us.

Doors will be open from 1100 until 1500, and I’ll be joined by Rachel ‘Coopknits’ Coopey and Nic ‘Nic’s Knots’ Lucas. Rachel will have copies of her books, Nic will have knitting bags, needle rolls and other goodies and we’ll have a selection of yarn available. There will also be the chance to handpaint your own skein of yarn and to have a look at what’s in the dye pots. I will be able to take card payments unless O2 decides to play up in a spectacular manner.

The workshop address is

Unit 3
The Old Stable
Back Grange Avenue
North Yorkshire

It’s on a little back street so there’s no parking right outside, but it’s possible to park in one of the surrounding streets.

The street is cobbled and a bit uneven, and the workshop itself has some uneven flooring at the entrance. The majority of the workshop is not accessible by wheelchair ( there’s a huge table in the middle which gives me fantastic work space but which limits the amount of room at the side). If you have any mobility issues please PLEASE email me via the website so that we can work out what we can to do to make this work for you.

Here’s how to find us.

If you’re coming from the town centre, walk up Kings Road. Keep going past the shops (very good coffee at Cafe Divine). On your left you’ll see a shop called the Harrogate Horse – it’s on the corner of Grange Avenue and you want to turn left into the street. There’s a little snicket / ginnel / passageway just after the Harrogate Horse and you want to turn right down it. When you come out of the snicket / ginnel / passageway you’ll be on Back Grange Avenue which is a loop. To find unit 3, walk straight forward, then follow the road as it turns left. Just to confuse things a little there are 2 buildings each with a unit 3 – so the first unit 3 you might see (depends if they have their roller shutter down) might be a recording studio. We’re about another 30 seconds further on in the unit with the blue sliding door – and I will have a sign up.

If you’re thinking of coming it would be lovely if you could leave me a comment to let me know, just so I make sure there are enough biscuits. I’d hate to run out of biscuits…..

Hi, I’d like to come on Saturday and would be interested in doing some dyeing. Let me know if you’d prefer me to come in the morning or afternoon.

    • We aren’t booking time slots – so come whenever you want. If it’s busy you might need to wait a little, but there will be lots of things to look at.

We’re offering the chance to dye 100 g skeins of sock yarn for £11.50 per skein.

      See you on Saturday.
