Winter Knitting

I’ve been planning ahead and have ordered some lovely chunky yarn bases to dye for the shop.

There will be 100% merino, 100% cashmere and 100% alpaca yarns – all about 100m to 100g

I want the yarns to arrive now so I can start playing, but it takes about a month to get everything twisted up for us.

More news when it’s ready for the shop.

Hitting the shop over the next few days will be lots more of the new sock base – 80% superwash merino with 10% cashmere and 10% nylon. In some ways this yarn is too gorgeous for socks – and 400m will give you plenty for a scarf or small shawl.

Finally, I’m sad to say we’ve decided that we won’t be going to iknit as sellers this year – but for a really nice reason. Our building work is ahead of schedule, so knocking through into the house is imminent. The resulting dust and loss of space are going to make it a full time job just keeping stock in the shop, and we’d prefer to do that rather than have nothing for sale to our loyal customers but be able to do the show.

We’re going to iknit just to enjoy it – and I hope to meet as many of you as possible.
